青黃不接
雖然身處他邦,不過大部份在溫哥華的華人都與港人無異,聽的是Kelly Clarkson、看的是「American Idol」。本來大家是河水不犯井水,各有各的生活。不過遺憾的是,我們的山頂大學節目「That Chinese Show」青黃不接的問題似乎非常嚴重,至今還未看到有能力的主持人接棒。雖然期間有不少新人應徵,但皆無法勝任該工作,年多以來一直依靠已經畢業的幾位老臣子在苦苦支撐,最近更因節目改動將播放時間由一小時縮短至半小時,於我看來節目的前景實在暗淡。見微知著,雖然這個例子沒有什麼代表性,但也隱約可以看出我們身處一個怎樣的音樂環境底下,雖然比起香港已有很大的喘息空間,不過跟電影、生活文化、食物等相比,我們的音樂圈子還是一個非常渺小的弱勢社群。
其實為何今天我會突然提起這個問題? 因為我聽完今日的節目後實在很怕它有朝一日會從大氣電波中消失。

man... i'm depressed after reading this.
but i still believe there is a considerable contingent of chinese (local/oversea) that still listen to alternative music... it's just that they may not be getting their music through radio. afterall, who's listening to good old FM radio (or cassette tapes for that matter) these days?

Feel bad that I couldn't help a bit on this, but I will keep listen every week.
